Spotting Alex in Hollywood!  No Way!

We were recently alerted by a sharp-eyed visitor to this site (the most outstanding Dave dude, who also happened to have his camera handy) that Alex Winter was on a Hollywood street filming a comedy segment for The Jimmy Kimmel Show.  The filmed segment was a spoof of the recent Mike Wallace / New York policeman / fast food confrontation which happened a while back.  Alex has filmed segments for the Jimmy Kimmel Show before, so if you watch the show you might be watching some of Alex's directing on the filmed segments!

For the complete story and full-view pictures, go to the Alex Winter Fansite and click on their News Section!

Our many thanks to Dave for sharing his sighting with the Bill and Ted fans on the message board!!

From Martians to Cats . . . Peter Hewitt directs Garfield: The Movie

You may remember the name Peter Hewitt from the credits of Bogus Journey.  That film was the up and coming director's first feature film project.  Now Peter Hewitt brings to the screen one of the most popular comic strip characters of the past few decades: Garfield: The Movie paws its way onto the big screen on June 11th.  Garfield will be computer generated, which undoubtedly presented Peter Hewitt with some interesting challenges.  For more information about the movie, click here.

And the Action Movie Star
Taurus award goes to . . . .

Tonight Spike TV aired the Taurus World Stunt Awards and what a nice surprise to see Keanu win the award for Action Movie Star.  His Speed (and River's Edge) co-star Dennis Hopper introduced a series of clips of stunts performed in Keanu's movies over the years (including some shots from Bogus Journey and Excellent Adventure), then introduced Keanu's stunt double and friend, Chad Stahelski.  Chad in turn presented Keanu with the award.  Keanu was visibly moved by the audience's standing ovation and gave a heartfelt speech, thanking all of the stunt coordinators and people he's worked with over the years.

Keanu was quick to point out that he's "never performed a stunt in my life" and that "stunt men do stunts."  He also made clear that he did not perform all of the stunts shown in the clips that had been shown.  But this is a well-deserved honor for Keanu as he has always gone out of his way to do as much as he can in his movies, and obviously those in the stunt industry admire and respect him for this.

Congratulation, Keanu!  It was well deserved, dude!

Freaked not available on DVD??
Now that's truly terrifying!

It's hard to believe, but true.  Freaked is not available on DVD!  One would think this movie, which has garnered quite a cult following since its (unfairly) limited release in 1993, would be available to fans on DVD.  The movie was released on laserdisc and has been seen on cable television here and there, but what fans really want is a full blown DVD release (with extras and commentary if possible).  Why is this hilarious brainchild film by Alex Winter and Tom Stern of particular interest to Bill and Ted fans?  Freaked is the only movie outside of the Bill and Ted films which stars Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves and William Sadler, each of them giving stellar performances in this offbeat, dark and biting comedy!  Anyone who was a fan of The Idiot Box on MTV were definitely not disappointed in this feature length movie, and it really does deserve a DVD release!

Now you can help by signing the *official* petition to get this movie released!  Alex and Tom are behind this petition themselves, so show your support and make your voices heard!

To sign the petition, click here, babes and dudes.
